About RAD

Let me introduce myself, I’m Robert Dawson (please call me Bob), and I've been a resident of Camarillo for over 40 years. In 2011, I purchased a Gamma 6004 stringing machine with a manual lock-down head, and then upgraded to a Wise motorized constant pull head. I initially started stringing as a hobby to experiment with a variety of strings, and to reduce my personal expense as I tend to go through strings quickly.

I ultimately started stringing for friends which grew to include fellow players in the area. Some who had found me through a website I created called XS Strings. Unfortunately, the hobby grew to become too demanding on my time as I was a full-time Graphic Designer working at a biotech company, so I curtailed the service to a select few.

Now, no longer a full-time employee, I'm redirecting my focus on tennis and stringing and have created RAD Tennis. (My old domain XS Strings was no longer available.)

I enjoy playing tennis primarily at the Mission Oaks and Kildee parks. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife for 34 years, have a wonderful daughter, and two fun-loving dogs.
